One of the more stressful parts of helping your loved one battle cancer is… all of the other responsibilities you need to do in a day. 

 Kids, spouses, work, dinner, housekeeping and all the other obligations you have in a day, don’t magically disappear when the cancer bomb drops into your world.

You can’t take care of everyone else if you don’t start by taking care of yourself.  

And, It can be really overwhelming when you’re being pulled in so many different directions.  You need to take a break every once in a while.

How does anyone manage to deal with all of this?

You are going to need a break.  (Honestly, I needed a break as soon as we started.)  This is intense and stressful stuff and it literally never stops. 

While taking care of yourself might not feel like it’s helping you, it will make this journey so much easier.  It will help you relax, cope, de-stress and keep your head in the game!

Helping a loved one battle cancer is super intense and incredibly stressful.  Dealing with all of this can have a significant impact on your ability to manage all the “stuff” being thrown at you.    Making time to take a break (even an hour) will make a HUGE difference in your ability to handle all of this!

 The reality is, you are going to be doing this for a long time.  Staying as healthy as possible is going to help you keep your head in the game and will make this whole situation much easier to manage.
