When my father was diagnosed with cancer, I was trucking along, trying to handle the insane amount of stress as best I could when my husband had a routine exam and was referred to an oncologist.

I was paralyzed. Right back to those first few weeks of anxiety, uncertainty, and the panic that eats you alive.

Lord, I know you are in control of this and everything happens in your time, but I am struggling right now. I’m exhausted and scared and I don’t know how to handle everything that’s flying at us. Help me figure out what to do as we go along. I feel like I have no control over this and I’m drowning. I know that only you can help us get through this, that only you can give us the strength we need to weather this storm. Please guide and protect us through this turbulent time. Amen.
Lord, I need comfort. In my own life, and in this situation, it seems that everything has gone from bad to worse and I feel like everything is falling apart. I know you are the source of my strength and I need the comfort that only you can provide. Please help me with those two things now. Remind me that I am strong enough to do this even when everything is falling apart. Amen.
Lord, I am so tired of trying to navigate this storm on my own. I need Your power and strength to face this. Please teach me to turn to You first, You are the only one who can help me through this. Help me learn to calmly endure the hard times and honor You in the midst of them as I work to build strength and resilience. Amen.
Lord, I would be lying if I said that I am in the midst of an easy or manageable situation. The world around me, even in my own home, seems to have been thrown into chaos. I’m exhausted, anxious about everything, and terrified to think about what might be coming next. Lord, I need Your strength and Your comfort to help me through these uncertain and difficult times. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Lord, I thank You for this wisdom that has spoken so directly into my life today. I feel very alone and trapped in the situation I’m facing right now. I don’t know what to do, what steps to take, what to say, or where to turn. I’ve tried to give the problem to You, but I continued to carry the load by myself, and it’s breaking me. Please help me throw the full weight of my struggles onto You! I thank You for taking this weight from me and for filling me with the strength I need to get through this situation! I ask you this in Jesus’ name –
Lord, right now I am facing things that feel like too much for me. And tomorrow I’m going to face more of this and most likely some new challenges as well. I need Your strength. I need You to hold me up and walk next to me in this situation. I am praying for the strength and resilience to wash over me so that I have everything I need to get through this. Lord, you are my refuge and my strength. Please help me as I find myself in these times of trouble. When it seems like my world is falling down around me and I am struggling through the storms of life, take away my fear. When I am weak, you are my strength. When I am scared, you are my refuge. When I cry for help, you will answer. Remind me Lord that you are with me, always. You will never leave or forsake me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Lord, when I worry about what’s coming, please calm my fears with the knowledge that you are in control of this. Remind me, that I will never be alone because you will always be with me. Take away my fear and replace it with faith in your unending love. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Lord, I ask that you would give me your peace during this situation. When I feel anxious please remind me that your word says I do not need to worry, but that I should share everything and pray to you. Your peace, which surpasses understanding will guard my heart and mind. Please give me that peace to get through this. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God, I know you hear the prayers of your people. Please listen to my desperate cry for help. I ask you to answer and deliver me from all my fears. The fears that threaten to drown me don’t stand a chance in the light of your loving power. When I feel out of control, remind me that You are in control. You make all things work together for the good even when I don’t understand it. Increase my faith in you. In your name, Amen.
Lord, you are the source of the hope in my life. Right now, my situation is far from peaceful. My heart and my mind are troubled with worries and fear that I cannot control. Lord, give me your peace and let it transform my mind, my heart, and my actions. I can’t see a way out, but you can show me the way. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
